Be Part of Art:

The DAI will organise and open three new exhibtions this year.  Three other exhibitions are already on display, meaning there will be six exhibitions open to visitors to the Amricani Cultural Centre. The Amricani will host two international conferences this season. Also held at the cultural centre will be more than 140 children’s activities. The Yarmouk Cultural Centre will host more than four dozen concerts and lectures, a dozen+ workshops and special events. All told, the DAI will plan and execute approximately 220 activities in Cultural Season 29.

Why share this? Because, to do all this well, the DAI needs your help.  The DAI needs volunteers and volunteer docents.  Both are valuable contributors to the DAI and DAI programmes.

DAI volunteers have the fexibilty of choosing how to work with the DAI. They might help welcome guests to concerts and conferences. They might read stories to kids or help keep the DAI Children’s Library open.  They are there when needed, willing to do what’s needed to ensure the success of an activity or event.

For those with more time to commit, the DAI docent programme is ideal. Docents commit to volunteering a minimum of 3 hours per month for at least one year.  Volunteer docents start with 12 – 15 hours of training on all aspects of the DAI, The al-Sabah Collection (TaSC), Amricani history, and more.  After completing the training, the DAI docents are prepared to serve as hosts for visitors to the museum. They represent the DAI and TaSC with VIP visitors, community and civic groups, and those interested in exploring all the exhibitions at Amricani.
